The reason that I'm sending you this email is to inform you of how great of an experience I had with your under $10,000 lot. I wasnt in the lot for more than 2 minutes and the gentleman came out to offer me some help...he was pleasant and not pushy..I explained to him that I was looking for a car in the 6-8 thousand dollar range and I was looking at the ford focus that was sitting there. I said that i wanted a manual tranny with that amount of miles and at that price....well he instantly pointed me to a mazda protege that was there with the same tranny, miles and price...and ithought to myself what is this another sheister trying to make some money and I instantly went on the defense and said well I want to take the cars that I'm testing to a mechanic...he assured me that the owners son personally checks out all the cars that come in himself and the sincerity in his voice stopped me dead in my tracks....he expected me to argue some more I
could see that and he was obviously taken back by the fact that I believed him. I am a very good judge of character and can tell when someone is out to get me...believe that. I've NEVER EVER felt sincerety from a car salesman like that before......after taking both cars out I realized that this man just wanted to put me in the BEST car that he possibly could. He obviously knew all the cars on that lot and the specifications that came with them cuz when I told him what I wanted he knew instantly where to point me...the protege that he pointed out was CLEARLY a superior car on the lot and to me he could c that......the man that helped me was a no nonsense kind of dude and when he saw that I knew what i wanted he did not try to upsell me into anything I did not want or need and that led him to selling a car that day... I cannot emphasize how greatful I am to him as I was feeling hopeless after dealing with so may used car dealers and having to walk away from them cuz they were scam atists...starving scam artists ...THAT man was Don Thurber, give him a raise he deserves it and I do NOT know him personnally...because of him I have nothing bad to say about les stumpf and you have a customer for life...seriously...I love my les stumpf ford...cheezy right?...but its true

Les Stumpf Ford should feel fortunate to have you managing their body shop.  I would have most likely gone with Honda Dealer for my 2007 Honda Civic body work needs last few times but I have been coming to you instead, and plan to do that for foreseeable future.  (Although I do hope that I do not have to visit your body shop very often - you know why ;) )

As long as you are there, Les Stumpf Ford is my first choice for all body work needs of all my cars, be it a Ford or any other model.

We are writing this letter to you about one of your salesmen. (John Manske).  I would like to thank you for all the kind service that you extended to Irene and I in purchase of our 2010 Ford Escape.  You took the time to explain everything to us.  You took way more time than any other salesmen we ever dealt with.  You not only took time off the sales floor to drive to Madison to pick up the car.  But you also personally made sure everything was installed on our car.  You also shared in the excitement that Irene and I had for buying our new car.  You even brought your own camera to take pictures of Irene receiving the keys to her new car.  John, you are not only a great salesmen but a wonderful person.  Les Stumpf is very lucky to have a person like you working for them and that you are a big asset to the company.  Again John, I want to thank you very much for making our day exciting.  Don't forget to stop out to the house to see the progress we are making on the restitution of my 1930 Model A Ford.

I have had two, recent, personal experiences of excellent customer service at the Les Stumpf Ford Dealership in Appleton, Wisconsin.

I live about 25 miles north of Appleton. I only go to town once every week or two. I have a 1998 Windstar minivan with about 125,000 miles on it. I was driving in town when the breaks became very soft and squishy. And then smoke started to come out from under the car. I was only two blocks from the Stumpf Ford dealership so I pulled in, turned off the car and started looking under the hood. I was afraid of fire and I wanted to check it out as quickly as possible. A salesman came out to help me and when we were fairly certain the danger of fire was past he brought me to the service department. They immediately brought the car in on a rack and diagnosed the problem for me, a ruptured break line was squirting oil on the engine. I had commitments and errands to finish. They rented me a car (only about $30 for a day) and had the my car repaired that afternoon. I was happy and impressed.

About 3 months later I was heading toward Appleton to help my son move his girlfriend to a new apartment and noticed a burning smell. I stopped and checked everything and found the engine oil very low. I bought oil at a gas station and topped it off. I checked the oil filter and it was on tight so I started to worry that something was cracked to be loosing oil like that. I went straight to Les Stumpf Ford. Again, they immediately put it up on a rack and had a diagnosis for me in less than 10 minutes. The oil filter wasn't loose, but it did have a tiny hole in the bottom of it. They changed the oil and filter and had me on my way to meet my obligations in only 30 minutes and $18.95.
I can't say enough good things about them.

"I would never buy a Ford.  At least that's what I used to think.  So what convinced me to consider a Ford vehicle?  STUMPF SERVICE:  I've been bringing my Neon in for several years and have been very happy with the treatment I received and the work that's been done on my car.  As a single woman who has to deal with my own car issues, I can tell you that the Stumpf Service Department is great to work with!  MIKE HARDIE:  (Director of Quality and Product Development for Ford Motor) I was at a continuous quality improvement workshop in Dearborn, over the summer and had the opportunity to hear Mike speak.  I was really impressed with the information he presented about Ford's quality improvement efforts over the last few years and it made me view Ford in a new light.

So when my Neon finally got to the point that I really needed to consider a new vehicle, I thought that if I wanted to continue to use Stumpf Service Department maybe I should look at a Ford vehicle.  When I've bought cars in the past I've made the decision based on the car I wanted and then I had to deal with the Service Department.  This time I know that I was happy with the Service Department and wanted to continue to use your services.  Sales should probably thank Service!

I also want to compliment Jeremy Powell.  I have never had the features of a car explained so well to me.  He really took the time to go over the features and make sure I new what each vehicle had to offer.  He also went over them again when I picked up the new car which made me feel very confident as I drove off the lot.

Brent Erickson was a pleasure as well.  I was presented with financing options, the information was all reviewed with me and he called my insurance company for me with the new VIN information.  All with a great smile!

Thanks also to the Body shop on the beautiful job they did fixing the dent from the other dealer.  You'd never know it had been there.  I love my New 2010 Edge!!  Keep up the great work."
