My wife Debra and I recently had the pleaseure of dealing with John Larson when we finally decided, after several years, that it was time for us to purchase a truck.  I am from the "old school" and firmly believe in doing my homeowrk when spending money, and my wife and I spent several weeks looking at many, many trucks.  During that time I amassed a large stack of business cards from salesmen (and saleswomen) from the dealerships we visited.  This does not include the number of private party vehicles we looked at.  I can honestly tell you I have saved only one business card for reference:  John Larson's.

From the first time I walked into Stumpf's used car office and John asked if anyone was helping me until my wife and I picked up our Ford truck at your dealership, John impressed upon me that he was available to help in any way he could.  This he did without being a pain in the butt (my take on his sales attitude).

We will keep John's card in our records and when it is time for us to purchase our next vehicle you can take it from me that we will begin (and most likely end) our search with John Larson.

I just wanted to thank you for your great help yesterday in getting my Honda Civic door realigned (to fix the problem caused by the door hitting side frame of my garage).  You not only fixed the problem but also did it in a record time (15-20 mins).  If I had gone to some other place, they may have easily kept my car for longer and may also have charged me for some unreasonable expenses.  You charged  nothing.  That is a great example of business ethics and customer appreciation that you showed.

I have been coming to you for body work for the last 5 years and you have provided excellent services every time.  I know that when I come to you for a body work, I will get a honest and fair estimate and my vehicle will be restored in best possible way, in shortest possible time.  This is the reason that I not only bring my Ford vehicle to you but also my non-Ford (Honda) vehicle.  Actually based on this trust, I take both my vehicles to Les Stumpf Ford for all other service needs too.

I have had two, recent, personal experiences of excellent customer service at the Les Stumpf Ford Dealership in Appleton, Wisconsin.

I live about 25 miles north of Appleton. I only go to town once every week or two. I have a 1998 Windstar minivan with about 125,000 miles on it. I was driving in town when the breaks became very soft and squishy. And then smoke started to come out from under the car. I was only two blocks from the Stumpf Ford dealership so I pulled in, turned off the car and started looking under the hood. I was afraid of fire and I wanted to check it out as quickly as possible. A salesman came out to help me and when we were fairly certain the danger of fire was past he brought me to the service department. They immediately brought the car in on a rack and diagnosed the problem for me, a ruptured break line was squirting oil on the engine. I had commitments and errands to finish. They rented me a car (only about $30 for a day) and had the my car repaired that afternoon. I was happy and impressed.

About 3 months later I was heading toward Appleton to help my son move his girlfriend to a new apartment and noticed a burning smell. I stopped and checked everything and found the engine oil very low. I bought oil at a gas station and topped it off. I checked the oil filter and it was on tight so I started to worry that something was cracked to be loosing oil like that. I went straight to Les Stumpf Ford. Again, they immediately put it up on a rack and had a diagnosis for me in less than 10 minutes. The oil filter wasn't loose, but it did have a tiny hole in the bottom of it. They changed the oil and filter and had me on my way to meet my obligations in only 30 minutes and $18.95.
I can't say enough good things about them.

"I would never buy a Ford.  At least that's what I used to think.  So what convinced me to consider a Ford vehicle?  STUMPF SERVICE:  I've been bringing my Neon in for several years and have been very happy with the treatment I received and the work that's been done on my car.  As a single woman who has to deal with my own car issues, I can tell you that the Stumpf Service Department is great to work with!  MIKE HARDIE:  (Director of Quality and Product Development for Ford Motor) I was at a continuous quality improvement workshop in Dearborn, over the summer and had the opportunity to hear Mike speak.  I was really impressed with the information he presented about Ford's quality improvement efforts over the last few years and it made me view Ford in a new light.

So when my Neon finally got to the point that I really needed to consider a new vehicle, I thought that if I wanted to continue to use Stumpf Service Department maybe I should look at a Ford vehicle.  When I've bought cars in the past I've made the decision based on the car I wanted and then I had to deal with the Service Department.  This time I know that I was happy with the Service Department and wanted to continue to use your services.  Sales should probably thank Service!

I also want to compliment Jeremy Powell.  I have never had the features of a car explained so well to me.  He really took the time to go over the features and make sure I new what each vehicle had to offer.  He also went over them again when I picked up the new car which made me feel very confident as I drove off the lot.

Brent Erickson was a pleasure as well.  I was presented with financing options, the information was all reviewed with me and he called my insurance company for me with the new VIN information.  All with a great smile!

Thanks also to the Body shop on the beautiful job they did fixing the dent from the other dealer.  You'd never know it had been there.  I love my New 2010 Edge!!  Keep up the great work."
